I'm having trouble with transmission or clutch; not sure. When I put the truck in gear I can move with the clutch half released, but I get a grinding sound, a smell, & no movement once fully released. Do I have a transmission or a clutch issue?

It sounds like what you're describing is a clutch pedal that is catching closer to the floor and not disengaging completely. That is usually caused by a leak in the clutch hydraulics at either the clutch master or the slave cylinder. Locate the leak and repair it, then the system will have to be bled out.

I still have fluid in the reservoir, so I don't believe there would be a leak. Have purchased a clutch kit & will replace all; I'll let you know if this fixes the issue.
