Do you hear the starter make one kind of loud clunk? Do you hear the light click of the starter relay? Do you have a test light or digital voltmeter?

Dandy. Pull the starter relay out. You'll see five terminals and the corresponding terminals in the socket. The middle one isn't used. Ground one voltmeter lead on the engine or battery negative terminal. Probe the terminals in the relay socket. One must have full battery voltage all the time. One must have battery voltage when a helper turns the ignition switch to "crank".

Move the meter lead to the battery positive terminal. Probe the two remaining relay socket terminals. You should find full battery voltage on both of them. If it's missing on one, try moving the shifter from park to neutral a few times.

Holler back if one of those voltages is missing.
