I had a "backyard" mechanic replace my alternator. (did a good job) but the car still wont start. Is it spark plugs?? 96 chevy limina

do you have a security light on or blinking
when trying to start ?
if its cranking and not starting, have spark, fuel and injector pulse ,remove spark plugs and check
