96 lumina the trany started to slip when it is cold now will not move at all. The fluid does not smell burnt and the filter was changed there is no metal in the oil

Chances are it isn't a solenoid or sensor. You could have the computer scanned to confirm that, but it sounds like the clutches are bad or the low reverse band is totally out of adjustment.
