i have a 1996 chevy cheyenne that i an=m trying to replace thestop light switch on the pedal and i dont know how to get the clip off the original in order to replace it.can u help?

push retainer in and slide to large opening so it will come off disconnect electrical and pull switch off reverse to replace.
