I am taking V6 out of car and putting in a 1958 283 V8. I am having troubles getting motor mounts to line up with
the engine

Well, duh! That car wasn't built with that engine in mind and the suspension and braking systems weren't designed for the additional weight of the larger engine. Everything involved with this project is going to be custom so you're going to have to be designer, engineer, and fabricator.

Keep in mind that if the other guy runs the red light and you're involved in a crash, the lawyers and insurance investigators are going to have a field day. They WILL convince a jury that you were partly at fault because you were less able to avoid the crash, . . . and they will be right. You may at least want to look into installing stiffer front springs, and replacing the brake proportioning valve to something closer to what would have come in that car if it came from the factory with a V-8 engine.
