light smoke on streering wheel above the air bag.

I had light smoke coming from my streering wheel above the air bag. I pulled over turned the switch off checked my turn signal stop working then tried to start the car it did nothing are said nothing its silent the battery is fully charge. Need help please thank you.

It sounds like there is a short in the steering column. Since you saw smoke, check fuses, but you must find what is causing the smoke.

this is caused by excessive grease on the turn signal switch.u will have to replace the signal switch.
