I recently inherited a 1996 Cadillac Deville. It's in great shape, but the trunk will not close. It latches but does not pull down. I was told to replace the motor. I replaced it (OEM 16889150 - motor only not the switch looking part). After replacing it....nothing!!! So I am currently out 80 bucks with no results. What should I do next?

Thank you for the reply. I may be in over my head. I can go buy a test light, but I'm not sure I understand how to connect all the terminals or connecting fused jumpers. The dealership might win on this one! Thanks again for the help

On a side note. I was just informed from a family member that it broke when a turkey fryer that 1/2" was too tall for the trunk was put in and the trunk was latched...then it tried to close until nothing worked

Fuse looked good. I replaced it just to see. No luck.

I figured that was worth a try since you were going to bring it into the shop for repair.
