I have a 1996 buick Skylark. And if the throttle cable is broken would it still be able to move? And how do you fix a throttle cord?

Hi,

If the cable is broken, you will not be able to rev the engine. The only movement you will get is at engine idle speed. If you are on a flat surface, it should move at idle very slowly.

As far as the replacement of the cable, I attached the directions below specific to this vehicle. It really isn't too difficult of a job. Fortunately, this isn't a common issue, so this should be the last time you have to do it.

Take a look at the pics below and let me know if you have questions or need help.

Take care,

Joe
