I have a 96 buick riviera with the 3800 series II supercharged engine, the auto parts store told me the hex nut on top of the thermostat housing was a vent and it is supposed to drip water, is this true, and if not how do I fix it I just bought the housing yesterday.

It sholdn't drip. There shold be a nut with a screw on top. The screw should be tightened down. There is a hole in the screw to bleed air out of the cooling system. If it still drips, then try puttingteflon type sealer on thethreads and tightening it down to stop the leak.
