My car failed the smog test, I wasn't given a code, and my check engine light was not on but the notes said "EVAP purge hose is split at vacuum source and is leaking." I can see the split in the hose end (its the connector part that is split) but when I look up EVAP purge hose, I don't get any results. Is there another name for this part?

That type of hose is generally purchased from a bulk roll of the correct-size hose. The exception is when the original one was molded to a specific shape for the application. Even then, once they're no longer available from the dealer, you can usually find a way to use bulk hose again to replace it.

The people at the auto parts store will ask you the application you're after, then they will find the right type of hose. In this case it doesn't have to be high-pressure hose, like for fuel injection systems, but it has to be gas and oil resistant so the fuel vapor doesn't deteriorate it.
