i have a 1996 Buick lesabre. about a month ago when i would reverse i would here a funny sound like holding a card in the spokes of a bike while the tire is moving . and just last week the reverse stopped working all together. so now i cant back up and when i put it in drive nothing happens, i have to get someone to push the car while a give it gas until it takes off. whats my problem and how much in parts?

internal issue and it would have to be removed and inspected. it most likely will be in need of a complete overhaul. budget about 1500-1800.
