I have a 96 Chevy Astro Van With Apparent Fuel system issues. For a while it would have trouble starting in cold weather, but if I let it sit it would usually start back up. I purchased another car and had the van as a backup so it did not get driven for a few weeks. I needed to haul something so I brought it out. It started right up and drove fine for about 5 miles. When I started it the second time, it stalled while driving after about 200 yards and would not start again. It seems to be acting like it is not getting fuel to the engine. I towed it home and parked it. After a day or two, I tried it again and still nothing so I replaced the fuel filter. I noticed when I took it off that there was pressure to the filter and the pump made an "I'm Working" noise when I turned the key. I have been told the next part to replace is the pressure regulator, but this is an expensive part to just guess at. Any suggestions?

I'd use a gage and check fuel pressure, first. If your going to work on your own vehicles, a fuel pressure gage is a basic tool.

If you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems. Also, the fuel poppets may need cleaning. The cleaning procedures I've seen for the poppets is a shop procedure. I doubt if fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank will help?
