I have a 95 vauhall frontera and its loosing water and after about 50 miles i have to stop cos of overheating and also top up with water/coolent what should i do?

You will have to get the cooling system pressure tested to locate this leak, you run the risk of doing serious damage it the engine continues to over heat, your mechanic can do this simple test and report the findings for you.
