starting radiator

my toyota truck had a hole in radiator so i went and bought a new one and replaced it it started but got hot rather quickly don't know if that is the thermostat or head gasket but i went out today and it turns over but will not fire up what could be wrong

Was engine run rather hot with old radiator? suspect headgasket failure

Pull all the spark plugs out and crank the engine to see if it spits any coolant or if there is any on the plugs.
