I need advice on a couple of problems I've run into doing a brake job on a 1995 Toyota Corolla. They are drum brakes. I had to replace the cylinders. The first problem: After putting new cylinder and pads on the rear left side, I can't get the drum back in place.( I have had the drums turned).
The second problem: The replacement cylinder for the rear right side does not look the same as the one that was on there, and it doesn't fit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have double-checked with the auto parts store and it is the correct part, according to them.

There's only one size wheel cylinder but the left and right are different. You might be able to mount them on the wrong side but the bleeder screw will be at the bottom where it won't do any good.

Any chance you can post a photo of the brake where the drum won't go back on?

Did you wind in the adjuster for the brakes?

Was the installed cylinder the same part number?
