I drove my car today around the corner to the gas station and my oil light comes on so I add oil to my car and all of a sudden within 10 minutes of me driving my car thermostat starts to rise like it want to overheat so I get home and look something looks like oil is leaking at the bottom of my car and there isn't any coolant in my car. So now I'm worried I don't have any coolant if I add the coolant could that help the problem or make it worse I'm confused I don't know what to do

THINGS ARE NOT LOOKING GOOD AT THE PRESENT

COUPLE OF THINGS TO CONSIDER

DO YOU WEEKLY!/ WEEKLY!/ WEEKLY!

CHECK YOUR OIL AND COOLANT LEVEL

AS PRESCRIBED IN YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL?

(NOT BY GEORGE AT THE QUICKY OIL CHANGE PLACE EVERY 3 MONTHS)

IF WE WERE MAKING THIS CHECKS (AND MAYBE YOU WERE)

HAS THE OIL AND COOLANT LEVEL BEEN CONSISTENTLY IN THE SAFE ZONE?

HAVE YOU BEEN HAVING TO ADD SOME EACH WEEK?

IS THIS A SUDDEN OCCURRENCE KINDA THING FOR BOTH FLUIDS?

DO YOU LIVE NEARER THE EQUATOR OR IS IT COLD AS CRAP WHERE YOU ARE?

DID YOU CHECK TO SEE IF THE COOLANT WAS MIXED 50%-70% WITH WATER, IF NOT, IS IT POSSIBLE YOU BLOCK/ HEADS/ RADIATOR/ OTHER FROZE AND BUSTED SOMETHING, OR PUSHED A FREEZE PLUG OUT?

MAYBE IT'S JUST THE WATER PUMP HAS GONE TO "POT" AND IS LEAKING OUT YOUR COOLANT? OR A BROKEN HOSE?

IF THAT'S THE CASE, HOW DO WE ACCOUNT FOR THE OIL LOSS?

LOOKS LIKE YOU NEED TO ADD THE PROPER FLUIDS AND START SEARCHING FOR THE ORIGINS OF THE LEAK(s?)

I DARN SURE WOULD NOT DRIVE IT IN IT'S PRESENT CONDITION!

IF YOU ARE LACKING JACKS/ JACK STANDS/ RAMPS, PERHAPS YOU COULD SORTA "HOP" A WHEEL ONTO OF THE CURB, OR STRADDLE A DITCH TO BE ABLE TO SEE UNDERNEATH.

THAT 15" x 15" MIRROR THAT'S HANGING IN THE HALLWAY OR THE BIG HAND MIRROR IN THE BATHROOM, AND GOOD STRONG FLASHLIGHT MIGHT AID IN LOOKING FOR THE SOURCE

IF NOTHING ELSE, ONCE YOU FIND IT (THEM) YOU COULD POST A PIC ONTO THIS THREAD, AND MAYBE ONE OF US CAN IDENTIFY THE GADGET IN QUESTION, IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY

HERE'S HOPING IT'S NOT SERIOUS, AND YOU DID NOT FURTHER DAMAGE IT WITHOUT OIL OR WATER IN THE ENGINE

RETURN HERE WITH NEWS!
