toyota head gasket

my toyota 4runner, now that i have it at 6K feet elevation and at 0 degrees, is exhibiting excessive smoke from the exhaust. i would think i have a head gasket problem but i just drove it over 800 miles straight and haven't lost a drop of oil, though it appears i may have lost a 1-2 cups of coolant. it may be the coolant was not topped off with the recent water pump replacement. the car ran like a top for 800 miles, from SF to Utah. i just bought it. what is my problem? if any

If you have not lost any oil and the amount of coolnat lost is minimal with no overheating issues, i don't see any problem with the engine.

If the weather is cold, exhaust would tend to spout smoke ( in fact it is steam if it is completely white ) and it is normal operational phenomena.
