the car has no power going up hills. I also cant get the timing set right it does'nt matter where you set the distributor it still runs about the same. It has good compression on all six cylinders. I thought it might just need a new distributor but am not sure if that would solve the problem. The car runs ok except going up hills.

When you go up a hill, the engine is under more of a load and requires more fuel. Check and make sure the fuel pump pressure is within the manufacturer's specs. Also, check to make sure the catalytic converter isn't plugging.
