Recently purchaced the subaru discribed to you. I know to change my engine oil evry 3,000. But I was also told by a former subaru employee that I should also change my front diff, gearbox, and back axle oils every15,000 miles. Is this just dealer hype? How often should I change these oils if at all? Thank appreciate the help. Roz

SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO KEEP UP WITH "ALL" OF WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOIN"!

https://www.2carpros.com/questions/2007-ford-taurus-tune-up

I'VE USED THESE LIFESAVERS EVEN BEFORE I GOT MY DRIVER'S LICENSE BACK IN '81 ......AND STILL DO!

FOR ALL OF YOU FROM NINTENDO GENERATION.

YOU CAN ALSO GET THESE ONLINE (ON THIS SITE) HOWEVER THEY ARE PAY FOR AND VIEW ONLINE......NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES....LIKE A BOOK (USED BY THOSE OF US FROM THE PEPSI GENERATION)

I DO NOT "TRUST" ANYONE'S OPINION (EVEN MINE ON HERE) I WANT "HARD FACTS" WRITTEN AND PROVEN WITH AUTHORITY (LIKE FROM SOMETHING COPYRIGHTED)

......FACTORY MANUALS ARE USUALLY THE BEST-US, OTHER MANUALS MAY EXPLAIN THINGS IN SIMPLER TERMS (BUT SAY THE EXACT SAME THING OR HAVE BETTER DIAGRAMS AND PICS)

I GENERALLY USE THE FACTORY ONES AS "LAW", AND THE OTHERS "CLIFF NOTES"

SOMETIMES ONE MAY CONTRADICT THE OTHER

YOUR TURN

I recommend that you follow the manufacturer's recommendations. See your owner's manual for a maintenance schedule.
