Heating problems

I have a 1995 Pontiac TranSport minivan with a 3.8L. I've been having issues with the car not reaching its normal temp. It won't reach its normal temperature, when is very cold outside. It would only reach 160 F and I think that's when the thermostat opens up. Last year I replaced the water pump, thermostat, new DEX COL coolant, and even tried doing the bleeding. But, nothing has helped. I just don't know what else could be wrong.
What can I do??

Try taking the temperature with an infra red temperature gauge. They can be as little as $15 for the small ones and they are handy to have. Take the temperature at the upper radiator hose at the radiator. Also take the temperature near the thermostat housing.
The reason for doing this is to see if the temperature sensor for the car is not reading correctly. DEXCOOL willl corrode very quickly and often lead to sensor giving incorrect readings.
So, if you don't get an infra red temerature gauge, replace the temperature sensor.

Thanks for the tip. I replaced the temp. sensor and when I took it out, it looked really bad. Which coolant would you recommend for GM cars?? I've heard before that DEXCOOL is not good anymore.

DEXCOOL is good u8ntil it goes bad and it goes bad FAST.
Prestone at a 50/50 mixture, (I get pre-mix), is tried and true.
You might want to get a radiator flush. Prestone, and Lucas Bros. both make good ones.
DEXCOOL leaves behind so much gunk and corrosion that you will want to flush and fill in a year instead of 2.
You might want to go ahaead and do so after 36,000 miles.
