on1995 pontiac transport the brake fluid was contaminated.I replaced a brake hose and I bled the whole system but the pedal seems spongy

There may still be air in the system or the master cylinder has been affected by the contamination, I would pressure bleed the system and try it again. Pressure bleeders are available for pretty cheap these days.
