No heat. Overheating.

I have 95 Grand Prix SE 3.1L. I just replaced the intake manifold gasket. There was an internal coolant leak and I had read that this model has problems with a faulty gasket. After many hours of labor I started the car back up. While it looks like the internal coolant leak is fixed, now the car is overheating and not blowing any hot air. The low coolant light is also on. I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, and drive belt. Not sure what else to do. Any thoughts?

Have the system pressure tested for leaks and have a leak down test performed to find the problem.

I can do that. But I do want to note that the coolant level isn't changing. The radiator is full and the coolant reservoir is full as well. Will your suggestion only help if there is a leak?

No. Leak down test will test to see if you blew a head gasket. Otherwise, the basics like a t stat, clogged rad and others need to be checked.

Okay. I wasn't sure what the leak down test was. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the responses.

If you are not getting heat, it sounds like there is an air block in the system. Try to bleed the system too.

I bled the system, but I'm not sure I did it right. While the car was running I opened the radiator cap, and the two bleeder valves. One was in the thermostat housing and the other on top of the coolant bypass pipe (I'm pretty sure that's what it was). I ran the car until coolant started coming out of both bleeder valves. Then I closed everything up. Sound right?
