I have a 1995 Pontiac grand prix with a locked up ac compressor my question is can you bypass the compressor when putting the belt on or is there no way to bypass it?

You might try an idler pulley to replace ac, then hopefully you can use the same belt. The idler pulley may cost 30 or forty bucks?

I don't know if shorter belt will work? If there is a shorter belt that would work, I don't have that part # in front of me.

thank you for your response. we ended up buying an ac bypass pulley from orielys for 40 bucks but it was well worth it because the car is working again.
