How do you check fire going to fuelpump with a test light

Clip the ground lead for the test light to a paint-free place on the body or frame. Unplug the connector for the fuel pump and probe the terminal corresponding to the pump motor positive wire. Sorry, but my wiring diagram doesn't show the color. It's not the black wire.

There is also a gray wire at the top rear of the right front shock absorber tower. That's the fuel pump prime terminal and is an easier place to test if the circuit is being turned on. If you find voltage there, you should also hear the pump running. If you do, you're done with that circuit.

If you don't hear the pump running but you do have voltage at the priming connector, you'll have to go back to the tank and measure there on the pump's connector. You should only see 12 volts there for about one second after turning on the ignition switch. That voltage should come back during engine rotation, meaning cranking or running.
