leaking diesel out of side of diesel pump, small plate, two bolts hold it on, is it just a gasket behind that plate, is it an easy fix.

I feel that the pump is over pressurising internally due to leaking internal fittings and seals, i would get the pump looked at by a diesel specialist, i may be due for a re build.
