Nissan Maxima 1995. Has been vibrating at idle. Stops (or is less) when moving. When stopped and we put it in neutral to stop vibration the engine runs faster in the 2000 rpm range rather then the normal under 1000 rpm. Any ideas?

Check for tune up. If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Check the idle air control valve for the high idle issue. Also, make sure the motor mounts are good. A bad one can make a vibration more pronounced.
