Why wont my mph meter read

I just had a rebuilt transmission and clutch put in my car and now my mph meter wont read why could this be?

The shop may not have hooked up the sensor. Return to the installer and have them re check there work

Ok and one other question how do I remove the serpentine belt tensioner on the eclipse

Which engine do you have?

Are you refering to the tensioner bearing for the A/C belt?
