1995 Mercury Marquis engine

I have a 1995 grand marquis with a 4.6. If the crankshaft sensor is bad would that cause the coils not to fire. what else would cause it not to fire the coils packs are new the fuses are good

Yes, a bad crank sensor will shut down spark. If you can access a scanner, see if there is a crank signal to the PCM. No signal = bad sensor.

We changed the crankshaft sensor and it still won't start what else can we try my husband wants to know can we put a wire from coil pins to battery to see if will start then thank you

It doesn't work that way anymore. Do you have access to a real time scanner?
