What motors can be swapped with my 95 Mazda mx3 5 speed manual? My motor has over 200,000 miles on it and I want to drop a different motor in it that is bigger but, dont want to make my manual an automatic just cause I switch to automatic motor.

Oh but will the Mazda3 motor work with my mazda mx3? I really want a new motor or barely used and I know I'm not gonna find a Mazda mx3 with very few miles its hard to find parts for my car anyway.

I have to be honest. The reason we only recommend direct fit parts is because with today's cars, there are so many differences when you change year or size. Sensors don't match up, computers don't work, wiring harnesses need changed, vacuum hoses are different... the list goes on.

Is it possible to do what you are asking? Anything is possible, but it isn't worth what you will go through. Years ago, you could easily switch engines from one to another. However, things have really changed.
