1995 Mazda Millenia Just Recently Cars Gears Been Slipping About 25 30 Mph Rpm

Just recently my cars gears have been slipping at about 25-30 mph. Rpm gauge will climb 1000-2000 rpm, for a couple seconds than drop and the car will go back in gear. No check engine light or anything. Car drove fine yesterday with no shifting problems. Please give me advice on this. Trying not to get ripped off by a mechanic. Thanks-



P.s. car is an automatic.

Have the transmission fluid level and condition checked.
