I've been dealing with my mazda for a couple of days now and now we're really running out of ideas. The car started stalling randomly while I would be driving and the I would be able to start it back up again about 5 mins later as if nothing happened. This usually happens after I have driven the car for a period of time. Sometimes it would take longer to start back up. I would crank it and crank it but the car wouldn't fire up. I only fires back up after a short period of time. Thinking It could be a clogged fuel filter I change that today. I fired the car back up but now it runs more rough than before, and stalls. I noticed that when I first fired it up after the new filter that I forgot to put the air intake system back on, but the car ran fine as if the problem was solved. But when I out it back on, that is when it started acting worse than before. Also the service engine light has never came on through all of this. Would anyone have any idea what is wrong with my car?

I would have the fuel pressure checked. It may be low.

Next time it refuses to start don't wait for it to make up its mind-do below immediately to determine if its fuel or spark problem

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine atleast 3/16 away from ground-have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if okay-check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, cap and rotor, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing
