Forget to put oil filler cap back on one day. Drove for about 30 miles and started running rough, got to a light and it stalled out. Put cap back on and started fine. While running, took the cap off and it immediately died. Put back on and runs fine. Even pulled out dipstick and noticed a little hesitation in running. As soon as you take cap off, it dies again. Is this a normal thing or bigger problem?

That would be normal. You are creating a vacuum leak when you do that.
