1995 Lexus ES300 fuel gauge not working properly

I have a 95 lexus es300 it runs good and smooth I have changed the spark plugs,fuel filter,valve cover gaskets,air filter oil and oil filter. it has 234k in great condition recently my fuel gauge hand began to waiver between the actual amout and go lower the check engine light came on a little bit after i noticed the fuel gauge waivering starts up fine and accelerates fine.
