1995 jeep wrangler 4 cylinder, changed fuel injectors, elbow and new gasket on valve cover. Still idling fast, when you press on gas the noise stops, only noisy when idling. Can not find the noise. Check engine light came on after changing the injectors. Diagnostic shows throttle sensor. Is this right or could the noise be something else?

Fast Idle may be the TPS

Really EZ to change.

Ever changed it before?

You got 156K on him.I have 2, one 35 yrs. Old ("MR. JEEP") other 65 years old ("WILLY"). No sissy names for mine!

Take care of him, he will take care of you. Forever!

Don't you think he deserves a new part. Even if it does not fix it. That's how I justify "little stuff" parts changing!

Take a chance

Glad you did get coded, prior to the repair. What was the code #?

Look for them pesky vacuum leaks too, they will cause Idle issues, and "Studder" (or "Stutter") going down the road, 'specially pullin' hills.

NOISE! Find it by shoving 3 or so feet of 1/2"-3/4" into your ear (garden hose will work too!) Use the other end like a STETHOSCOPE!

This will help in finding vacuum leaks too, many times the thin rubber connections will be disintegrating or tearing apart, those little hard plastic vacuum lines get broke too.

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE PESKY MOVING PARTS!

Let me know how it goes or you have more questions!

Here for you, Fellow Jeep Pal!
