what is the knocking noise under my 95 grand cherokee passenger floor board when going over bumps?

Make sure the lower control arm bushings are not worn. Also, check the front sway bar end links and bushings. The front two bushings tend to wear out on older/higher mileage vehicles and this will cause an annoying "knocking" sound. I have personally experienced this on a 1997 grand cherokee.
