My ignition rotates but will not start in my 1995 Jeep Cherokee

I had just used my car and after I tried to start it I put the key in the ignition and all it did was rotate but it never started the car?

So when you turn the ignition to the start position what happens?Does it crank no start?Or no crank no start?

The ignition just rotates to the start position and it feels very loose but it doesnt crank or start it almost feel like the ignition is broken cuz its so loose!
