1995 Isuzu Trooper Speedometer Stopped Showing Speed Told May Speed Sensor

My speedometer stopped showing the speed, I was told it may be the speed sensor I don't know where the sensor is located plus I don't have a manual to check out. If it's not the speed sensor what else could it be?
