My car by mileage and date is due an oil change. But on my sticker from when the car was last oil changed (I bought it in January 2013. It says use a 20/50 w. But when I went to Jiffy Lube they said they don;t carry it. Can you use different weights of oil for a car. If I don't use 20/50 will it hurt my car?

Manufacturers have varying recommendations for their engines. The oil weight you listed is typically only used in really hot climates. If you're looking at a sticker in the corner of the windshield from a previous oil change, that is advertising and not the requirement of the manufacturer. It doesn't even mean that's the oil they put in at the last oil change. The owner's manual will have the recommendation of the proper oil viscosity to use. The dealer can also tell you what is right for your engine. Even they guys at the speedy-lube places should know which oil to use.
