a/c compressor willnot engage. 1.8 eng...does this mean i need to recharge???

The a/cc ompressor will not engage. all fuses appear to be ok.i did try turning the center hub by hand and it is very tight and hard to turn..Should I first try to recharge??thanks bruce

You will have to get the system pressures tested first, if low get a leak check done.

thanks mh but what about the center of this compressor ...is it normal for that to be tight and hard to turn by hand..the a/c compressor center hub on my monte carlo turns easily..thanks bt

The system is holding pressure however the guage reads 120#....and compressor will not kick in...how do i check the compressor relay switch????
