Honda passport delays when trying to start.

just check my battery connections and all fine. battery is new. when I turn the key to start, there is a delay and then the engine starts. the delay is getting longer and longer but the engine fires and all lights, headlights, etc. are fine. the battery appears to be okay but the delay in starting is worrisome. thinking the starter is going out but I have no other symptoms. starter does not click or anything but a pause before the engine fires. any suggestions?

Did you have a starter draw test done while you were there to make sure the starter inst drawing too many amps?
