1995 Honda Passport Put Different Transmission Does Same Thing Did Before Change

i put a different transmission in my passport and it does the same thing as it did before i change the transmission it wont shift

did anyone check the trans to make sure it was bad??? i would check the wiring to the shift solenoids and the throttle control cable.
