1995 Honda Del Sol While Driving Home Tonight Engine Power Sudden Diminished

While I was driving home tonight the engine power all of a sudden was diminished as I shifted gears (5-speed). There is a noise now, loud, like when a muffler comes off, but my muffler looks fine.
