When I engage brake my dash board light comes.

When I engage brake my dash board light comes, also my brake lights do not work as well. You can see a slight brightness. This only happens when the lights are on with the brake light. The dash light comes on regardless. However, if I take the passenger side brake lamp out of the socket all issues go away.I tried replacing bulb, tried a new wire harness for the passenger side, replaced fuses, but no luck. Any ideas?

It sounds like a grounding issue. Check engine grounds as well as battery cables. Check the wiring to the back brake lamp. There might be something drawing power from it.

Thanks. Tried a different wire harness to brake lamp and got same results. Will check engine grounds.

If the brake light itself is coming on check the brake fluid level, as your pads might be worn down causing the brake light to go on under braking.
