Hi I have a 95 honda accord and I started hearing a loud knocking sound while driving. I pulled over and checked the oil and it was low. I addded oil and now the car does not want to stay running. It idles real bad until the engine shuts off. The car will crank over and start every time but does not want to stay running. I let car sit over night and it started finein the morning and idled good for about 7 min and then it started to idle hard and shut off unless I hold the gass pedel in. I tryed looking online for propblem and there are too many things that it could be. Please help. Did I throw a rod? Is is a big problem? Thank you for your time and help.

If the knocking noise is still there, most probably you did throw a rod or have some worn bearings that might still be salvageable with bearing replacement.

If keeping the gas pedal slightly depressed keeps engine running, the idling speed is too low and turning the idle up might work but cleaning of the throttle body and EACV (IAC) would be recomended before idle adjustment.
