Recently replaced alternator and when trying to reconnect battery alarm keeps going off. How do you stop it?

do you have the fob??? factory or aftermarket??

Not sure. Inherited car from relative and think its aftermarket.

ok, try this. remove a battery cable, turn the key to the on position and then put the battery cable back on.
