I have a 1995 ford ranger 4X4 with the 4.0 Automatic and I was driving about 65mph, Hit a pretty good crater in the highway, The motor died and it seemed if all power had shut down to the electrical, I made it to the side of the highway and shut the key off and the electrical power came back on, The engine turns over but will not start. Any idea of what this could be? The battery and cable and all were connected properly, And it seems it is not getting fire to the plugs, Any help would be appreciated

I KNOW LITTLE ABOUT YOUR RIG

IMMA JEEP CJ KINDA GUY---I ANSWER WHAT I CAN, OR AT LEAST KNOW SOMETHING---COMPUTER CARS JUST AIN'T MY THING!

FROM THINGS I HAVE SEEN AND TRY TO PICK UP ABOUT NEWER CARS THERE'S THINGS THAT WILL SHUT IT DOWN IF IT'S IN AN ACCIDENT TO PREVENT FUEL FROM CONTINUOUSLY BEING PUMPED OUT

I WAS LOOKING FOR "ASD" (AUTOMATIC SHUT DOWN) SO FAR I THINK IT'S A RELAY

I BELIEVE THE IFS (INERTIA FUEL SHUT-OFF) MIGHT ACTIVATE THE ASD (RELAY)

I DID FIND THE IFS IN A DIAGRAM----SURELY IT HAS SOME SORT OF RESET SWITCH/ BUTTON!

THE DIAGRAM SAYS IT'S "BELOW THE GLOVE BOX"

I AM INCLUDING THE DIAGRAM (4 DIAGRAMS--THIS IS THE 3RD UNDER ENGINE PERFORMANCE)

EVEN IF THIS IS NOT YOUR FIX, I TRIED MY BEST, AND IT COSTS YOU NOTHING TO LOOK FOR THIS AND ATTEMPT A RESET

IN THE DIAGRAM IT'S IN THE TOP LEFT PORTION

I WILL TRY MORE, OR GET MORE DIAGRAMS IF THIS IS NOT YOUR FIX

KEEP US POSTED
