have 1995 ford ranger and i have obdII code reader in hand and code reads p1443 evaporative emission control system control valve.what part should i replace first,purge solenoid or vent solenoid?

Hello,

Here is the Code Def that Mitchell1 has....

P01443 - Evaperative Emissions Control System = Vacuum System, Purge Control Solenoid or Purge Control Valve Malfunction.

Ok, first thing I would do is loosen gas cap and leave loose drive for day or 2.

Also look for Vacuum Leaks. Check all vacuum line for cracks and/or being soft make sure all connections are tight.

In most cases one or both situations above are the cause of the code. The gas cap because it has stopped venting properly.
