Radius arm bracket

hi i have a 1995 f150 and i need to replace the radius arm bracket. we worked all day on it today and only got one of the stock rivets almost out. after chiseling away for like an hour we got the head off but cant get it to budge with the punch. i would have used the grinder but i couldnt fit it in the small space. is there an easier way?

You're not supposed to remove that bracket.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Raise and support vehicle under frame side rails.
2. Remove shock absorber to lower bracket attaching bolt and nut and separate shock from radius arm.
3. Remove spring lower retainer attaching bolt(s) from inside coil spring.
4. Loosen axle pivot bolt.
5. Remove radius arm to frame bracket attaching nut, then the radius arm rear insulator and spacer (if equipped).
6. Lower axle and slide it forward.

NOTE: The axle must be supported and not be permitted to hang by brake hose. If length of brake hose is not sufficient to provide adequate clearance, it will be necessary to remove the disc brake caliper. Do not suspend caliper by brake hose, if removed.

7. Remove axle to radius arm bracket attaching screws, then the radius arm to axle attaching bolt and stud.
8. Move axle forward and remove radius arm from axle, then pull radius arm from frame bracket.
9. Reverse procedure to install.

Then you will have to continue cutting the rivets. An air chisel may be the fastest way.
