The oil pressure gauge in my vehicle has a tendency to fluctuate wildly left to right when the engine is warmed up. I have replaced the oil pressure sending unit, but this still continues. I am afraid the oil pump will give out while I am driving and blow the engine. What do you think the problem is?

Ok I would check the pressure with an actual gauge before going to far. See these trucks have instrument cluster problems. Ford has a service bulletin out on them but no longer flashes them, so you have to get them from a wrecking yard as there is no aftermarket source yet. I had to replace the one on my 95 because the temp quit and the speedo would bounce a bit around 55 mph causing the torque convertor to lock and unlock. I hope this helps.
